About The Opportunity 

God Is Dead is a family drama that calls into question the excesses of Western consumption, and advocates for a less capitalist world; think The Cherry Orchard meets Succession meets Sarah Kane.

Four privileged siblings gather in the luxury of their family home to mark the anniversary of their parents’ death. Meanwhile the world outside of their estate burns, as people fight for the most basic resources to survive. Unexpectedly, a fifth sibling who left the confines of The Family years earlier returns and  his reappearance unearths a series of long buried family secrets. But the clock is ticking and decisions have to be made urgently, as everything The Family has built is about to be destroyed.

Jacob is the adopted sibling who spent years in the outside world, far from The Family. When he returns he claims  he simply wants to reconnect with his siblings but in reality, he has come to warn them that all they have is about to be taken away. He’s going down and he’s come to take the last of The Family down with him.  As the story unfolds, so too does the real reason for his disappearance; his two older sisters murdered their parents and he’s the only one who knows their secret. A background in physical theatre or a good sense of physicality is required for this role.
